Mertha Gonzales, is a dedicated individual with a passion for service, serves as the Treasurer on the board of our non-profit organization. Originally from Washington DC, Mertha has called Virginia home for the past 29 years. A devoted 42-year-old mother of three daughters, she embraces the challenges and joys of parenthood.
In her professional life, Mertha serves as a Trouble Shooter for a medical insurance company, showcasing her adept problem-solving skills. Her love for learning and willingness to share newfound knowledge make her a valuable asset to our organization.
Mertha finds fulfillment in extending a helping hand to those in need and is known for her culinary prowess, creating and savoring delectable dishes. Family holds a special place in her heart, and spending quality time with loved ones brings her immense satisfaction.
Mertha's unwavering faith in God guides her through every situation and challenge. With a front-row seat to witnessing the pieces fall into place, she brings a sense of grace and resilience to her role as Treasurer, ensuring financial matters align with the organization's mission and values.
Porscha Hicks-Plant has a foundation built on strong work ethics from her early days at IBM during high school, Porscha has cultivated a notable career with the Department of Interior. Her academic journey led her to Regis University, where she attained a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and an MBA, specializing in Finance and Accounting.
With 19 years of service at the Department of Interior, including 15 years as an accountant, Porscha has risen through ranks to become a Supervisory Financial Systems Specialist in Indian Affairs. Her credentials include being a Certified Government Financial Manager and an active member of the Association of Government Accountants.
Outside of her professional life, Porscha is deeply committed to her family, sharing her life with her husband, Raymone Plant, and their three daughters. Her personal interests span traveling, singing, enjoying fine foods, and engaging in biblical studies. Passionate about community service, she founded Biblically Beautiful to offer Bible studies and support community outreach initiatives. Furthermore, Porscha dedicates time to teach financial literacy, aiming to enhance financial responsibility and management skills within the community.
Stacy Wilson is an advocate and visionary and founding director of the I Am Valuable Mentoring Program who aims to empower and uplift young girls and women through her pioneering initiative. With an unwavering commitment to fostering personal growth, self-esteem, and resilience, Stacy has inspired countless young girls and women, helping them realize their potential and recognize their inherent worth.
I Am Valuable is a transformative initiative that has been making a profound impact since its establishment in 2008. Combining her passion for personal development and social change, Stacy conceptualized the "I Am Valuable Mentoring Program," as a beacon of hope and guidance for young girls seeking to navigate life's challenges and seize opportunities. Under her visionary guidance, the program has flourished into a haven of support, offering mentorship, guidance, and resources to many.
